Taboo,a cultural or religious custom that does not allow people to do, use or talk about a particular thing... is it just a mere tales or believes passed down from generation to generation which can be passed off as something superstitious and not to be taken seriously?as one saying goes, " to believe or not to believe the decision lies complete in your hands."In conjunction with my topic today, i would like to introduce you to one of the re known taboos, "Cut Not Your Nails At Night"Case #1According to my source, based on what he had learned from his parents, grandparents... they believed in the phrase, "cut your nails, cut yourself, and bleed you shall to death." Eerie as it may sounds apparently there's a logically explanation to this creepy phrase. In the olden days, where electric lamp, bulb or so on can be considered as rare with only the guiding light of a candle it's hard to be careful in not cutting one's own self especially when most families do not even own a nail clipper but armed with a scissor instead. Furthermore, the villages are far from civilization and getting help in time obviously is a headache. So in order to avoid misfortune from happening, elders created this phrase to scare/advice the younger generation from causing trouble to themselves.Case #2Another version of this taboo is from the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan. [shocking?!? actually saw this in an anime called, "xXx Holics"]If it is ignored, the person wouldn't be able to attend his/her parents funeral which literally means they will die.[Note: screenshots will be added after exam]Well, that's all i got to know bout this taboo, hope you enjoy reading it. so if anyone gt anything to add on please do give me some feedbacks or comments. thank you
